A Skyborne Chapter by Studio Hock

The Cortège is an immersive open-air performance set in Los Angeles, a living procession of mythic figures, puppetry, sound, and movement. For this production, Studio Hock shaped its aerial realm, designing a custom drone show that carries the story into the sky above.

As dusk falls and the arena fills with ceremony, hundreds of synchronized lights rise in unison. The drones form shifting constellations and symbolic shapes that mirror the choreography on the ground, creating a seamless connection between earth and sky.

The aerial composition enriches the world of The Cortège, adding a sky-scale visual layer that supports the narrative rather than competing with it. The formations echo the tone, rhythm, and emotion of the procession, giving the audience a broader canvas on which the story can unfold.
